Combustion of a Mixture of Vegetable Oils in an Emulsion Burner: Study of the Regulation Parameters to Achieve the Highest Combustion Efficiency and the Lowest Environmental Impact

摘要:This paper presents the experimental results of the combustion of a mixture of vegetable oils in a fuel/air emulsion burner. The experimental results have been obtained by modifying three factors: i) oil temperature, ii) fuel emulsion flow and iii) air flow. To determine which condition of each factor allows obtaining the highest combustion efficiency and the lowest environmental impact(CO2, CO, NOX, CXHY and SOX emissions) it was performed an analysis of variance(ANOVA). The results of ANOVA showed that airflow and the temperature are significant for almost all the factors variables, which makes it essential to analyse the interaction graphs to determine the optimal combinations of the levels tested. Thus, it was observed that, yields equal to or greater than 79%, together with exceptionally low CO and NOX emissions were achieved for a combination of Amed air flow, with C4 and C6 fuel flows, both at 22 ° C and 40 ° C.
