摘要:<正>Alpha decay, or spontaneous emission of an α particle by anucleus, played a very important role in the development of modern nuclear physics and chemistry. The gross features of △L=0 (no angular momentum change) α transitions (e.g. between the spin-parity Iπ=0+ ground states of even-even nuclei) are reflected in the so-called Geiger-Nuttall rule, discovered in 1911, where a quasi-linear dependence is observed between the logT1/2 and Eα-1/2. Until recently no exception from this linear dependence was observed in any a-decaying nuclei, including the polonium isotopes, which are often used as text-book examples for the discussion of α-decay properties.
