摘要:General-purpose commercial CFD codes are intensively used in industry,hence the justification of adapting it to predict fires and fire-related phenomena.While most of publications on CFD fire modeling are generated based on the specially designed open source software,examples of using ANSYS FLUENT to predict fire development is very limited in the open literature.Based on the large eddy simulation results of the 176 k W methane fire in unconfined quiescent atmosphere,this paper highlights the effect of soot modeling.This is done by applying and comparing four soot models composed of soot formation and oxidation submodels.It is demonstrated that the soot oxidation models could be equally important as soot formation ones to predict the soot yield in the overfire region.Contribution of soot in the radiation emission by the flame is also examined,and the predicted incident radiative fluxes are favorably compared to published experimental data.
