Behavior and system performance optimization for an industrial system by using particle swarm optimization

摘要:The working of any manufacturing system directly depends on the performance of its components in which reliability plays a key role.Therefore efforts are desired to improve it by reducing the failure rate or increasing the repair rate of each subsystem/component.In real life situations, it is difficult to achieve optimum performance of an industrial system for achieving the desired industrial goals as mostly the available data is uncertain, vague and imprecise.The main objective of the paper is to quantify the uncertain data and optimize the system performance through its behavior analysis.The paper computes the reliability parameters of the cattle feed plant in form of fuzzy triangular number because fuzzy numbers allow expert opinions, linguistic variables, operating conditions in reliability information.The multi-objective optimization problem is formulated after the behavior analysis of the considered system by using obtained results and problem is solved by particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique.In comparison with widely used other algorithms, PSO a meta-heuristic algorithm offers much more choices for system designers.The results obtained by PSO technique are compared with the results obtained from LambdaTau technique.
