A Wideband Circularly Polarized Antenna with an AMC Reflector for Navigation Satellite Systems

摘要:A wideband, high-efficient, circular polarized(CP) antenna for navigation satellite system is presented. The operating frequency range of the antenna is from 1.34 GHz to 1.73 GHz and it can be used for both the Global Positioning System(GPS) and the Bei Dou Navigation Satellite System(BDS). The antenna is composed of a CP crossed bowtie dipole over a finite artifical magnetic conductor(AMC) reflector. The wideband is obtained by the original band of bowtie structure and is expanded by the surface wave propagating on the finite AMC. The antenna composes of an inverted, rotary table, cavity backed reflector, crossed bowtie dipole structure, AMC reflector, together with a single feed port.
