On the strongly stabilizing MIMO controllers

摘要:When the control system is stabilized by a stable controller, the controller is said to be a strongly stabilizing controller.There exist many design methods of stabilizing controller, but most of the proposed design methods do not consider the stability of stabilizing controllers. Since the instability of stabilizing controller occurs to make the closed-loop system very sensitive to disturbances and reduce the tracking performance to reference inputs, it is required in practice to use the stable stabilizing controller whenever it is possible. Youla et al. show that the plant is strongly stabilizable if and only if the plant satisfies the parity interlacing property condition and examine a design procedure of stable stabilizing controller. However Youla et al. do not clarify the exact structure of strongly stabilizable plants. Zhang et al. clarify the exact structure of strongly stabilizable multiple-input/multiple-output plants. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the parameterization of all strongly stabilizing multiple-input/multiple-output controllers.
