Performance Evaluation of Wireless Ad-hoc Network for Variable PHY Layer Structure

摘要:The transmission over the ad-hoc network is more challenging in comparison to the mobile networks since ad-hoc network in highly error-prone network. The quality of the system can be degraded due to user mobility, multipath fading, noise and path loss. In the present work, the performance of the Mobile Ad-hoc Network(MANET) is evaluated with different routing protocols under varying PHY layers and varying data rates. The simulations have been performed in OPNET for varying application such as FTP & Voice. It is observed from the simulation results that optimum performance of the system is observed with extended physical layer at 12 Mbps data rate. The throughput of the system is increased and the delay in the system is decreased.
