Ranking of Educational Institution using Extent Analysis Method for Fuzzy MCDM

摘要:Educational institute selection is a multi-criteria decision problem and has a strategic importance for many young learners. The conventional methods using crisp values for institute selection are inadequate for dealing with the imprecise or vague nature of linguistic assessment. To overcome this difficulty, fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making methods are proposed. In this study, fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP) and the fuzzy analytic network process (F-ANP) are used for the selection of Educational institute. The proposed methods have been applied in ranking top 5 universities of the world. After determining the five Criteria and fifteen Sub-criteria that affect the Institute ranking decisions, Extent analysis method is applied to handle fuzzy -AHP and fuzzy-ANP, the latter is preferred in ranking institutions.
