Au nanoparticles supported on Bi2WO6 nanosheets for excellent photothermal conversion performance

摘要:Photothermal conversion is one of the most effective ways of absorbing and utilizing solar energy. The key factors of the photothermal conversion process are seeking for nanofluids with good optical absorption and dispersion stability. In this work, bismuth tungsten oxide nanosheets(Bi2WO6) was first prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method, and then Au nanoparticles were supported on Bi2WO6 by impregnation-reduction method. Au nanoparticles and Bi2WO6 nanosheets exhibit optical absorption in the visible and near-infrared(NIR) region respectively. So full-spectrum absorption of nanocomposite nanofluids(Au/Bi2WO6) is obtained. The Au/Bi2WO6-H2O nanofluids have higher temperature rise and better photothermal conversion efficiency than the base fluid. This novel Au/Bi2WO6 nanofluid is very attractive in working fluids for direct absorption solar collectors.
