Experimental Study on the Performance of Thin Asphalt Overlay with Basalt Fiber

摘要:Basalt fiber as an inorganic material with a stable property has been widely used in asphalt pavement construction and maintenance.To further study the influence of basalt fiber on the pavement performance of thin asphalt overlay,the asphalt mixture with a nominal maximum sieve size of 10 mm(AC-10)was selected to do the mixture design.The high-temperature wheel tracking test,uniaxial penetration test,lowtemperature trabecular bending test and immersion Marshall test were utilized to detect the road performance of the mixture.The cantabro dispersion test was used to test the bonding properties of the mixture.The experimental results show that the addition of basalt fiber makes the mixture obtain better performance at high and low temperatures.The change of water stability is not obvious.The bonding performance is also improved.
