摘要:<正> In this study we present experimental and analyticalresults on low amplitude shock waves (from 4 to 300 bars)generated in solids by laser pulses.The targets consisted ofthin gold layers(10μm) deposited on a quartz substrate.The temporal wave profiles have been recorded by meansof the piezoelectric response of quartz used as a pressuregauge(Fig.1).The irradiation conditions were:1.06 μmlaser wavelength,pulses of 20 ns duration,and incidentfluence from 0.4 to 4.0 J/cm2.
