摘要:<正>Rock cavern natural gas storage is a system of storing high pressure natural gas in a cavern with thin steel lining excavated in the bedrock.Development of storing stations which allow high pressure operation are extremely beneficial for the natural gas supply system using pipelines. We outlined the existing pipeline network and future prospect in Japan, investigated geological distribution of bedrock that is good enough for the construction of a rock cavern natural gas storage, and studied the potential construction site.In addition, making a conceptual plan for a rock cavern natural gas storage on an imaginary location,we identified technical issues concerning its practical application and studied economical feasibility.
