摘要:<正>The Global Warming concern leads to a continous new refrigerant research. The focus is to combine the need of good thermodynamic characteristics with a low impact on the earth ecosystem. On the basis of the above mentioned consideration the impact of the use of propane (R290) in hermetic compressors for air conditioning and commercial refrigeration has been analysed. The R290 performances are presented from both a theoretical and an experimental point of view compared with R404A for LBP application and with R407C for HBP working conditions. The influence of this new refrigerant on the compressor reliability has been considered focusing on the bearing load, the material compatibility and the oil solubility. in particular the lower operating temperature has a positive impact on the compressor reliability. Some final considerations on the safety issue are presented.
