摘要:<正>Intestinal microbiota comprising trillions of bacteria from about 500 to 1000 species was shown to be crucial for many physiological processes in the host organism.Recently,a bidirectional communication between brain and the gut microbiota was described and suggested to be an important factor in the development and course of several diseases of the nervous system. We hypothesize that gut microbiota may be also an important player in the course of stroke-the number one cause of adult disabilities and one of the most frequent causes of death. We observed dramatic shifts in the microbiota composition before and after experimental stroke(Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion,MCAo)in mice,however,similar changes were present in sham operated controls.To unravel the effects of surgical procedures on the composition of gut microbiota we subjected 40 C57B16 mice(5
