Research of Longitudinal Frozen Depth and Airflow Temperature in Cold-Region Operating Tunnel Based on a Physical Model Test

摘要:In cold regions, the longitudinal frozen depth of surrounding rock along the operating tunnel is important to determine insulation layers. However, the analysis of longitudinal frozen depth in the operating tunnel remains uncertain due to the terrible field conditions. In this paper, in order to obtain the distribution law of longitudinal frozen depth in a cold-region operating tunnel, relying on the Daban Mountain tunnel in Qinghai, China, the model system with a similarity ratio of 1:37 was established. Based on the operating tunnel model, the longitudinal governing equations of frozen depth and airflow temperature were established. The correctness of governing equations was verified in comparison with field data. The modified governing equations of longitudinal frozen depth and airflow temperature could be used to the approximate calculation for insulation layers and be a guide to the tunnel construction in cold regions.
