摘要:A prevalent problem facing undergraduate students and graduates in colleges and universities of China’s mainland these days is that,though the majority of the students have started with their English language learning in primary school or even as early as the time when they spend time in kindergarten,most of them still encounter great difficulty when they have to deal with practical works involving English communication like speaking,debating,discussing and writing even after they have known the discussed topic very well and have had big vocabulary.In order to find a solution to this English communication problem,here case-based teaching mode is introduced for the course Technical English Communications to find out the effects of the combined mode of the lecture-oriented type and case – oriented one on students learning.And it seems this new teaching method has resulted in the promising outcomes by motivating students to make more efforts on learning.
